I Have Laundry to Put Away, 2025
Acrylic on French linen and handmade in France wooden stretcher
130x195cm
THE STORY:
Since moving to the South of France I am treated to the near daily spectacular show of sunset. The ocean meets layers of mountains, which change color by proportion as they recess further and further back becoming more and more pale. It's so pretty that I feel myself without words, tiny and yet connected in an immense universe. Every time I try to take photos and videos, they never look like what I see before me. So it means that I have to try to memorize the colors in the moment (not that they make paint in the glowing, back-lit, neon colors of a setting sun) and then try to paint something that makes me feel the same sense of great and tiny awe.
